FCA's Girl's Volleyball Team wraps up a record breaking season !!

The Falcons Girl's Volleyball team finished a fantastic season with a final record of 27 wins and 4 losses, and became the first team in 15 years of school athletics to finish the regular season unbeaten, winning its first 27 matches. The Falcons also tied the school volleyball and basketball record for most victories in a season.

"Mrs. T and I are extremely proud of how they're representing the school, the VB program, the team and the Name on their jerseys, as I know the parents and staff are as well. It's been so rewarding to be part of their special season. They've brought honor to God in gyms across the area this fall, not only through victory but by letting Christ's work in their lives shine through their commitment to playing with excellence, teamwork, encouragement and enthusiasm. As other schools see their good works, that brings God glory and turns hearts to recognize the Giver of their talents (Matt. 5:16). What a testimony!" ....Coach Jeff Smith

The Season wrapped up with two very exciting tournaments; the Two Rivers Conference Tournament and the Fox Valley Athletic Conference Varsity Tournament.

The Falcons took care of business in the first round of the 2 Rivers Conference Volleyball Tournaments. Faith Christian beat Franklin 25-14, 25-11 in eighth-grade action and Rotollo 25-5, 25-16 in seventh-grade play!

Faith Christian rode stellar serving to victory in the seventh-grade match. Kyley Thompson went 20 for 21, Maddy Thompson was 9 for 9 and Jocelyn Kohlmeyer went 4 for 4 serving overhand for only the second match. Excellent serving, Falcons! In the eighth-grade match, Crystal Okpisz gutted it out for the team while playing with a 100-degree fever and battling a cold, including a 9-for-9 serving performance! Chloe Rojas went 12 for 13, Kathleen Clemens 9 for 10 and Amy Haboush 5 for 5 to round out a solid serving effort. Both teams advanced to the quarterfinals!  The 8th-grade team survived the semi-finals to reach the finals of the 2 Rivers Tournament before losing a hard fought match to Thompson Middle School. The 7th-grade team reached the semifinals before losing to Edison MS, who went on to win the 7B championship.

Faith Christian battled through illnesses to give its two opponents two hard-fought matches at the FVAC varsity tournament. Trinity Oaks Christian of Crystal Lake won our semifinal tussle 25-19, 21-25, 25-16. The Falcons had 15 minutes to rest up for the third-place match, where they gave a rested Harvest Christian squad all it could handle before the Lions prevailed 25-12, 16-25, 25-16 to win the third-place team trophy.  A special shout-out to our setters, Crystal and Chloe. They played every point of six grueling games tonight and made some spectacular plays and countless solid sets, tips and rescue plays. Special mention to Kyley, Jocelyn and Priscilla, too. They stepped up and played huge for the team while some of our 8th-graders battled illness and nerves.  And extra-special thanks go to our five eighth-graders. Unfortunately they were among the girls hardest hit by illness this week, but they gave whatever they could, and that's what counts. Our losses don't erase how they formed the nucleus for a record-setting season filled with great memories, relationships and life lessons. They leave large shoes for the returning players to fill next year! How do you top 27 wins? Way to go, 8th grade!
