Parent Involvement Committees
Here at Faith Christian Academy we could not thrive without parent involvement. There are many ways to use your talents serving our school community. Here is a list of the exciting ways to get involved.
Weekly Groups
Moms-in-touch
The mission of Moms in Touch is to impact children and schools worldwide for Christ by gathering mothers to pray. This group meets every Friday throughout the school year from 8:30 – 9:30 in the morning to pray for your students and their specific prayer requests. Meetings take place in the south overflow room in the Church.
Hot Lunch Moms & Dads
Hot lunch is served Wednesday and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. If you would like to help out weekly or just for a day, stop by! There's no need to call or make arrangements in advance. This is a great way to get to know the children at Faith Christian Academy!
Recess Helpers
Recess helpers are needed for the first through fifth grades. If you are interested in becoming a recess helper, contact your student's teacher.

Room Party Parents (Christmas, Valentines)
Another great way to get involved at FCA! Parties are typically held in the afternoon ending at dismissal (3:15 p.m.-3:20 p.m.). Contact your students teacher for more information.
6th Grade needs two Valentine's Day party Coordinator.
Monthly Groups
Market Day
It's easy and rewarding to be a volunteer for Faith Christian Academy's Market Day program. You can meet new friends and enjoy the spirit of giving. For more information on becoming a volunteer, contact Sally Jo Detloff or Elizabeth Ricker.
Quarterly Groups
Families Living Through Faith
"Families Learning Through Faith" is a quarterly, family centered gathering focusing on simple, but powerful ideas that will boost a child's academic ability many-fold. Dr. Russell has focused his entire educational career on the powerful role that parents can play in nurturing their children's learning, and especially their love of learning. He found a receptive environment for these beliefs at Faith, and he now heads the Academy's efforts to find real-world applications for the learnings in every subject and grade. Families Learning Through Faith is a time for FCA parents and teachers to work together on creating family-centered, out-of-school "learning adventures" that parents can share with their children. Families Learning Through Faith evenings are open to the public.
Annual Groups

Fun Fair
The Fun Fair Committee's job is coordinating all of the details that make up our Annual fun Fair. Moms, Dads and Grandparents help with set-up, tear-down, running games, serving food and providing a safe, fun-filled event for students of Faith Christian Academy. the Fun Fair is held annually the third Friday of September and is an all school event - meaning it takes the entire school to put on the Fun Fair each year - but the Kids love it!
Faith Christian Academy Fall Fundraising Banquet
Faith Christian Academy is hosting a Fall Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, November 4, 2010 ( the Venue will be announced soon! ). The Banquet is for all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors. A personal invitation from someone at FCA will ensure the best turnout, so please let us know who we can invite for you! The Banquet is a celebration of Faith Christian Academy's history and vision for the future.
Please invite whomever you wish and reserve your seats for this wonderful, memorable event!
Others
Teacher / Staff Appreciation
Throughout the school year, the Teacher Appreciation Committee makes it known to the wonderful teachers and staff at Faith that they are special! This committee determines how often they would like to show appreciation and then gets creative in finding ways to do so! Last year, the staff enjoyed a luncheon in the spring, watched their empty vases become filled with flowers at Valentine’s Day, received Christmas cookies, and much, much more.
Graduation Committee
The Parents of the 8th grade sudents are asked to help plan the after-graduation celebration held in the gym following the graduation ceremonies. Traditionally, the 7th grade students and their parents help serve and clean up after the event.
School Spirit
In the past, School Spirit has been served by one person. Typical duties include coordinating the purchase of special socks to be worn by the FCA Volleyball team and making or coordinating hair ties for the Cheerleaders. Other responsibilities could be helping design practice t-shirts for Basketball players and the Track and Field Team. Sporting event pictures can also be taken and hung on the bulletin board in the front entryway. Use your imagination, grab a friend and get creative!
